“ Abella creates a landscape that’s rich with narrative and emotional grit.” - Femmusic
Mary Beth Abella
Melancholy indie pop/rock that hits where it hurts—dreamy, defiant, and unforgettable.
Mary Beth Abella is an award-winning songwriter whose music offers a delicious blend of indie-pop, rock, and folk, driven by haunting vocals, lush instrumentation, and hooky melodies. A recipient of the Lionel Richie Songwriting Scholarship and a Song of the Year finalist, her songs have been featured on shows like The Real World/Road Rules, in films, and in regular rotation on radio shows. As a session singer, you might hear her voice on Hot Tub Time Machine Too, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the League and in national commercials. She even sang on an Old Spice commercial live in Los Angeles with “Everybody Loves Raymond” star, Patricia Heaton making an appearance. She's opened for acts including Juliana Hatfield, Alana Davis, indie rock band, Mates of State, and played at a Heart concert at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheater. She’s also toured all over the country and performed as an indie rock keyboardist on an episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Comparisons to artists like The Ting Tings, Gemma Hayes, the Silversun Pickups, Cat Power, Lucy Dacus, Aimee Mann and Sara Bareilles highlight her diverse appeal. Catch her performing live in Los Angeles or stream her albums wherever you get your music
